Whistling Dixie

It's official.  Sophia has learned to whistle. (neat-o, that rhymed).  She has been practicing A LOT lately, and finally has a little music escaping those pursed lips.  She is so proud.

Beach in OCTOBER

So, when we think October, we think apples, leaves changing colors, brisk walks....  This year, leaves are still green and we hit the BEACH and went swimming on an 82F day.  wow.  Not bad.  Want proof?  look at these pics.

Apple picking 2011

One of my favorite things about living in New England is apple picking in the fall.  Never new much about this before living here and even until the kids were born, this season just passed.  After having the kids, a whole new world was opened to me and this is one of those things.  I LOVE the taste of an apple picked fresh off the tree.  So crsip, juicy and sweet.  MUCH different from those you buy in the store.  The weather is FANTASTIC this Columbus Day/ Thanksgiving day weekend.  In the 80's, sunny...  Perfect for picking apples.  So that is what we did.  Here are some photos of the fun.

Wiggly tooth

First week of school, Sophia had a wiggly tooth.  Then she lost it.  Second week of school, another wiggly tooth.  Then IT was gone.  These teeth have not been missing for more than a week and she already has two little pearls popping through the gap.  She is growing up too fast!  Where is that pause button??!!

Bathroom progress

yes, progress has been slow.  Especially over the summer.  Hoping to kick it into high gear this fall and be done with it.  Finished painting and have pictures up of that.  Going to start tiling friday and hopefully get the floor done in a week or so.  Fingers crossed!
