Today is our 4th wedding anniversary. Yay us! I think they came up with "traditional gifts" for those who lack inspiration to think of stuff themselves. Makes us feel better about getting something traditional - like it was intentional, not for lack of a better, more personal gift. Well, I joined the ranks of the uninspired today. I guess my gift will be thought and attempt rather than the actual gift that counts. I had it set in my mind that I would go to Kabloom today and get a tropical arrangement with Bird of Paradise in memory of our St. Lucia honeymoon. I was then to hit the "fruit Center" across the street and buy some exotic fruits and then TJ Maxx for a vase. Well, I got to the Kabloom to find it out of business. Then to the fruit center. You would think they specialized in FRUIT. They had a TERRIBLE selection of just regular fruit you can get anywhere. I didn't even bother with TJ Maxx.
I then got the kids in the car AGAIN and headed a few more blocks "into town". For such a small city with so few businesses, there was NO parking either! I found a florist and was trying to park near it as I didn't bring the double stroller (just had a pathetic excuse for a single one) so I wanted to get close. I gave up and found one a couple blocks away and put Sophia in it and carried Dylan. Got there and they didn't even HAVE the Bird of Paradise - have to special order. Yeesh. THe only exotic flower they had was delphinium orchids. Better than nothing I guess. They did have them in St. Lucia. I got some Iris' that "looked" exotic and astalmaria (sp?) that our flower girls carried at our wedding. I will hit Godiva for some chocolate dipped fruit. Yay for tradition :)
